FESCO Bill Check by Reference Number — Complete Guide
Where to find your reference number and how to check your bill correctly the first time.
What is the FESCO reference number?
Every FESCO connection has a permanent 14-digit reference number. It works like an ID card for your electricity meter — it never changes, no matter how many months pass or who pays the bill. This is the only number you need to check your FESCO bill online, so it is worth saving it in your phone.
Where exactly is it printed?
Take any old FESCO bill and look at the top section. You will see a box labelled "Reference No" with 14 digits, often printed in groups (like 12 34567 8901234). It is different from your meter number and customer ID, so make sure you copy the right one.
Step-by-step: checking your bill
- Scroll to the bill checker at the top of this page.
- Type all 14 digits — the box automatically ignores spaces and dashes.
- Press "Check My Bill" and your latest bill appears with the payable amount, due date and units consumed.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Wrong digit: a single wrong number shows no result or someone else's bill. Double-check before submitting.
- Using the meter number: the meter number is not the reference number — it will not work.
- Checking too early: if the new bill has not been issued yet, wait 2–3 days and try again.
